Terms and Conditions

1. About Us

GentleRise Stairlifts Ltd (“GentleRise”, “we”, “us”) is registered in England and Wales. Registered address: Fergusson House, 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. Contact: [email protected] / 0333 335 5637.

2. Scope

These terms govern the supply of stairlift installation, servicing, repair, rental, and removal services (“Services”) by GentleRise to the customer (“you”). By accepting a quotation or placing an order you agree to these terms.

3. Quotations and Orders

• Quotations are valid for 30 days from issue unless otherwise stated.
• A contract is formed when you accept a written quotation and we confirm acceptance.
• We reserve the right to decline any order at our discretion.
• All prices are quoted inclusive of VAT where specified.

4. Installation and Service Visits

• You must ensure reasonable access to the property and staircase at the agreed time.
• Installation times are estimates. GentleRise is not liable for delays caused by factors outside our control.
• You are responsible for ensuring the staircase is structurally sound and suitable. We will advise you if we identify any issues during the home assessment.
• Any additional work identified during installation that was not included in the original quotation will be quoted separately before proceeding.

5. Payment

• Payment is due on completion of installation unless a finance arrangement has been agreed in writing.
• Finance options are subject to eligibility and third-party lender approval.
• Overdue invoices may accrue interest at 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998.

6. Warranties

• New stairlifts: 2-year warranty covering parts and labour for faults arising under normal domestic use.
• Reconditioned stairlifts: 12-month warranty on the same basis.
• Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse, unauthorised modification, or normal wear and tear on consumable parts (batteries, upholstery).

7. Cancellation

• Consumer customers have the right to cancel within 14 days of accepting a quotation under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
• If you request that installation begins within the 14-day period, your right to cancel is not affected but you may be charged for work completed if you subsequently cancel.
• Cancellations after the 14-day period may be subject to a reasonable cancellation charge covering preparatory costs incurred.

8. Liability

• GentleRise carries public liability insurance. We accept liability for damage to your property caused by our negligence during a service visit.
• Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the price paid for the relevant service.
• Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses including loss of income or enjoyment.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
